Show runs 21st-25th

Mass Hypnosis is an experiment in printmaking as a collective, immersive and time-based medium. The participating artists will be covering as much of the gallery space as possible with their screenprinted patterns. Printopolis artist-in-residence Stefan Hoffmann will also participate, printing directly on the gallery windows and walls. Pulsating coloured lighting by Philippe Blanchard will light the resulting collective mural, animating the coloured prints to music and live performances. An experiment in maximalism and neo psychedelia, Mass Hypnosis hopes to create an audio-visual space where printmaking can be re-imagined.

Exploding Motor Car Installation at Magic Pony

Yesterday Winston and I installed a Monster Mash window at Magic Pony. Its always fun assembling trash and we finally got to use the car door we were holding onto for so long! Thanks to Kristin and Steve for inviting us, it was a blast! It was really interesting hearing what passerby were saying when staring at the Monster Trash heap.

It’s only up until Halloween so go experience it in person while you still can!

Cloth, Paper, Print

I installed a piece entitled ‘Potpourri Concrète’ for a group exhibition called Cloth, Paper, Print. The show opens this Friday at Urban Space Gallery in 401 Richmond. The exhibition is part of Printopolis, the big print symposium happening all over Toronto. Printopolis tours are happening on Friday and Sunday you should check out some of the awesome shows if you are in town.

Up All Night

I’ve been up all night for the past little while, which is unlike my Sleep Apnea Self. 2++

1. I get to bike around on garbage day and take my neighbour’s lovely detritus.
2. Been Skype-ing with my good friends in Japan and doing live feeds projected at the gallery!

Drink of choice: Early Grey with milk and raw honey.
